My friend Jacob and I decided to go for a little hike. We got 4 days totally including the time of transportation so the place should be in reach of Copenhagen within a couple of hours but also far enough away to explore some different nature than we got in Denmark. Therefore we went our heads and feet towards a small town called Lövhult located in Småland, Sweden where we started our Höglandsleden (Highland trail) hike.
Hiking day 1: Lövhult (1) to Ärnanas (6)
We managed to start out the first day of hiking a little to late, meaning we had to stop somewhere on the trail to cook dinner and then continue the hike in the glow of our headlamps and the light from the full moon. We reached our shelter place in the darkness and went straight to bed, with an alarm set to wake us up at 4 am so we could experience the red full moon.
Hiking day 2: Ärnanas (6) to Eksjöholm (13)
Whit the sunlight hitting our cold faces we went up and started the day with a hot cup of coffee and some breakfast. We packed our equipment and went to the lake to refill our water bottles before heading back on the trail.

Hiking day 3: Eksjöholm (13) to Hästberget (between 22 and 23)
The second night was pretty cold. The temperature dropped to -2°C (28.4°F) witch we were not prepare for. Our sleeping bags were only cable to keep us warm to temperatures way above the freezing point so we didn’t get much sleep that night. However we were provided wit a really beautiful morning with the sun trying to rewarm the ground.
At our 4th day we were left with only 10 km of walking. The plan were pretty simpel: get out of the forrest and find a bus back to the car. And so we did whit a funny feeling of driving the same distance we had walked in only 40 minutes.
Hiking day 4: Hästberget (between 22 and 23) to Bruzaholm
We walked a total of approx. 70 km (43.5 miles) including they way to and from the trek a some small mistakes during the way.
